Specificity - mAMP Drug Test Panel

The following compounds are detected positive in urine by the mAMP One Step Methamphetamine Drug Test at 5 minutes. Cutoff represents the concentration of each compound required to yield a positive reading. A lower cutoff indicates a greater ability to detect the compound.

Methamphetamine - Definition and Description

Methamphetamine is a highly addictive and potent CNS stimulant drug and anorectic. Most street methamphetamine is produced in illicit meth labs, found in a powder form known as crank — or a rock crystal form known as crystal meth, glass, or ice. Methamphetamine is consumed by snorting, smoking, or injecting after liquefying. Methamphetamine is notorious for its ability to induce psychotic behaviors in some users, in addition to periods of sleep deprivation that can last for multiple days. [1] Meth is a slang name commonly used to refer to any form of methamphetamine.

Summary - mAMP Methamphetamine Urine Test Panel

d-Methamphetamine is the target compound for the mAMP One Step Methamphetamine Drug Test, detected at a cutoff level of 1,000 ng/mL. d-Methamphetamine is primarily found in its illicit forms (crank, crystal meth, glass, and ice) — but is also a prescription drug, indicated for treating ADHD and obesity, marketed under generic labels and the brand Desoxyn. In normal urine (pH 6–8), approximately 37–54% of a d-methamphetamine dose is recovered as unchanged parent drug, with 4–7% recovered as d-amphetamine. [2] Urine pH has a significant impact on these rates, with higher values in acidic (lower pH) urine and lower values in alkaline (higher pH) urine.

MDMA cross-reacts with this test at 2,000 ng/mL. MDMA is one form of the designer drug ecstasy. It should be noted, however, that detection of ecstasy use is outside the scope of a methamphetamine urine test device. Instead, an ecstasy urine test device should be employed, such as the 1-panel MDMA One Step Ecstasy Drug Test (or a multi-panel drug test that contains an MDMA panel), which detects the three forms of ecstasy: MDMA, MDA, and MDEA.
