Introduction
In recent years, the importance of providing accessible web content to the handicapped has come to the forefront. In particular, specialized software known as screen readers have become prominent for assisting the visually impaired with navigating the internet. During the planning of Drug Test Success, a great deal of effort was spent in making sure that its content would be accessible to the widest range of media devices. The result was an efficient website that's easy to navigate, fast loading, and widely accessible.
Accessibility Features of our Website
-
- Navigation:
- All parts of the website are accessible using only the keyboard. The Tab Key moves the cursor from link to link. Shift-Tab moves the cursor link to link in reverse order. Any time that a link is highlighted, pressing the Return Key will follow the link.
-
- Tables:
- Tables and forms are coded according to strict standards that allow those using screen readers to interpret the layout and information as efficiently as possible.
-
- Fonts and Text:
- Most browsers provide a "Zoom" button, which serves to increase or decrease text size. If not available, there are options in the browser's settings to adjust text size. This website is coded so that using these tools provides optimum results. When you increase the text size, the rest of the website layout will increase accordingly, so that the look and feels of the website does not change.
-
- Colors:
- Website colors were carefully chosen that provide maximum contrast among page elements.
-
- Stylesheets:
- If you would like to browse our website using your own stylesheet, most browsers provide a simple means of doing so in their browser settings. You can also turn off stylesheets completely. You will find that the website flows nicely with no stylesheet applied. In fact, many cell phone browsers turn off stylesheets by default.
Browsers
Current statistics show that a majority of internet users use Microsoft's Internet Explorer for their daily web surfing. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer is known in the web building community to be quite a "buggy" program. Many hoops must be leaped through in order to coax a website into behaving properly under Internet Explorer. This reaches into the realm of accessibility as well. As a result, we highly recommend using one of today's "standards-compliant" browsers - such as Firefox, Opera, or Safari for Macs. The "standards-compliant" browsers tend to provide very consistent and reliable results.
